I am a high school senior in Michigan. These are the classes I have taken by year: Freshman - Honors English, Earth Science, Spanish II (I took Spanish I in eighth grade), US History, Honors Geometry, Spanish III, Health, and Biology. All classes were worth 1 credit. Sophomore - Honors English, Spanish IV, Honors Algebra II (I took Algebra I in eighth grade), Chemistry, Spanish 5a, Ceramics & Jewelry (No, I'm not gay), and Civics & Economics. All classes were worth 1 credit. Junior - Marketing, Spanish 5b, AP Calculus AB (I never took BC), Regular English (It was either regular or AP Language, no honors class was available), World History, AP Statistics, Physics, and Business Law. All classes were worth 1 credit. Senior (current semester and next semester) - Psychology (.5 credit), IB Theory of Knowledge (1 credit), Finance I (.5 credit), Human Anatomy & Physiology (.5 credit), AP Literature (1 credit), AP US History (1 credit), PE Foundations (.5 credit), Finance II (.5 credit), and Marketing: Store Operations (.5 credit). The credits are weird because my high school switched scheduling methods for this year. I would like to take Short Story (an English elective) instead of Human Anatomy. Would this switch hurt my chances? I am not planning to go into science. Rather I am more interesting in pursuing something related to language arts. This adds up to 4 or 4.5 credits of English (depending on Short Story), 5 credits of Math, 5.5 credits of Social Studies, and 4 or 4.5 credits of Science (depending on Anatomy). This is 19 core credits. Also, 5 foreign language credits, 1 arts credit, 1.5 physical education credits, and 3.5 business credits. If you must know, my ACT is 30, my GPA is 3.96 (one "B" in AP Calculus), and I play varsity baseball, I am in Spanish Club, and am in National Honor Society. Please let me know your opinion on my admission. Thanks a BUNCH.... Read More »
